Morocco is a fascinating destination — ancient medinas, the Sahara desert, the Atlas Mountains, a rich Jewish heritage and a unique cuisine. But before you book tickets, there are a few things every Israeli should know — read the important note at the start of the guide.
⚠️ Important to read before booking1. No direct flights from Israel — all flights involve at least one stopover. Total travel time: 7–10 hours. 2. Visa — you must check before booking — as of 2026 there is no clear official confirmation of a visa exemption for holders of an ordinary Israeli passport. Arkia states that an "advance entry approval" is required up to a week before the flight. Check with the airline, Morocco's official visa portal (acces-maroc.ma) and Morocco's diplomatic mission before booking. 3. Partial travel advisory — Israel's NSC advises avoiding non-essential travel to southern Morocco and to areas near the Mauritania border. Marrakech, Fez, Casablanca and Agadir are not mentioned in the avoidance recommendation — but check for updates on gov.il before any trip.
