1Why Cyprus

Cyprus is an island in the eastern Mediterranean and an EU member. This entire guide covers the south only. What makes it special for Israelis:

• Kosher — Chabad is active in Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos.

2Flights from Israel

From Tel Aviv there are direct flights to two airports:

• Larnaca (code LCA) — El Al, Israir and Wizz Air. Flight time about 1 hour 5 minutes.
• Paphos (code PFO) — El Al. Flight time about 1 hour.

Price examples: El Al from $150 round-trip; Wizz Air from €50 one-way. Prices change — be sure to check in real time.

3Visa & entry for Israelis

Cyprus is an EU member. Israelis enter without a visa. Two important points:

• Cyprus is not yet a full part of the Schengen Area. Check with the Cypriot embassy before travelling.
• ETIAS is not active yet as of 2026. Check separately whether it will apply to Cyprus.

Make sure your passport is valid for several months beyond your return date.

4When to fly

• Spring (April–May) — mild and pleasant, the sea warming up. Less crowded.
• Summer (June–September) — peak season. Sea 25–27°C. Very hot in July–August.
• Autumn (October–November) — the sea is still warm, less crowded. Excellent.
• Winter (December–March) — suited to city and mountain trips, not beaches.

5How many days & a recommended itinerary

4–7 days let you cover several areas:

• Larnaca — a base close to the airport. The Salt Lake, Phinikoudes beach.
• Limassol — a lively city with a promenade, castle and harbour.
• Paphos — a UNESCO site, the archaeological park and Aphrodite's Rock.
• Ayia Napa — beaches and nightlife.
• Nicosia — the capital with its unique border line.
• Troodos Mountains — painted churches, villages and fresh air.

• Ayia Napa — beaches and parties. For younger travellers.

8Transport & getting from the airport

• Two airports: Larnaca (LCA) and Paphos (PFO).
• Kapnos Airport Shuttle — shuttles to both airports.
• Bolt — operates in Cyprus.
• Car rental — highly recommended. The island is spread out and there's no convenient intercity public transport.

9Internet & eSIM
